Link Building Strategies for Your Site

You might have heard of the terms “positive SEO” and “negative SEO” which are becoming a lot more prevalent with the algorithm changes that Google has recently made. Google implemented these changes to eliminate limited-content blogs, to put it nicely.

The link building strategies that I utilize will help to nullify the impact on your site if you have been part of one of the unfortunate blog networks to recently be shut down.

To clarify, blog or article networks still hold a place in your link building strategy.  However they should no longer be relied upon to serve as your only option for your advanced link building strategy.

As part of my link building strategies, I focus on a number of article directories, press release sites, and established high page rank sites within my niche.

Part of My Advanced Link Building  Strategy – Buy Aged Domains

I developed several of my own blogs with domains that I have purchased at GoDaddy after finding available high page rank domains with expired domains.

I highly suggest that technique, but it definitely is not required. You should do this with your new blog as you can add a aged domain URL to a  brand spanking new blog for not more than the cost of an annual domain registration fee. This is optional and is the only component with an associated cost.

First, I will generally spin my articles for free by using Content Professor which is the quickest and easiest spinning tool that I have found on the market place. I am somewhat cautious with spinning tools. I have noticed that there is duplicate content all over the web.

When you think about huge news stories that break from AP or Reuters, they don’t spin their content and it sure does not seem to affect them at all.  However, it does not take long to create a spun article and be able to submit a different version with every submission. Spinning is a key element to my link building strategies.

PRLog.   This is a free press release site. I submit just about every single article I write to them for publication. I receive more traffic referrals from PRLog than any other site I use. I use this as part of my link building strategies because you are allowed three backlinks per article which I exploit on every submission.  I have had several of my posts on PRLog rank #1or #2 in search results after posting with them.

Article Directories. Amazines, EzineArticles, GoArticles, ArticleBlast, and Technorati are the main five article directories in which I submit my articles.  Each one of these article directories allow you to include backlinks to your site. I receive the most referral traffic from EzineArticles.  However my articles on Amazines receive more views than any other directory so it is a bigger part of my link building strategies.

I also have quite a few other basic WordPress blogs that I’ve created in my own blog group in which I’ve set up RSS feeds so that each time I publish an article on my money sites, a copy is also published on my other sites. These other sites are not the highest page rank sites, but it does give me more pages that point back to my site. I have noticed the sites have slow but sure moving up the page. This is a nice addition to my link building strategies.

Lastly, I spend time to find established, high traffic websites that are in my same niche to submit my articles. The only sites I will submit to, are ones where I’m allowed to contribute on my own schedule, not based on their requirements; I must be permitted to have backlinks to my blog; and I don’t want to exchange links as part of my link building strategy.

No offense to anyone else but I’m not looking to build their sites any more than necessary. I am already submitting my content for publication on their site which I feel is a fair exchange. When I search through my backlinks by using Domain-Pop (again for free), I regularly find that the niche sites I submit to contain many more backlinks to my site than compared to the amount of articles I have actually submitted to them. Optional Backlinking Building Strategies Component:  As I touched on earlier, blog networks are becoming less and less stable with Google cracking down on many of them.  One of the more advanced blog networks that appears to be unaffected by these recent changes is ArticleRanks.

You can either purchase credits to submit articles or add PR1 or higher blogs for ArticleRanks to publish content on in exchange for submission credits.  As part of my link building strategies, I choose this option as it costs about $10 per year for a domain compared to about $360 per year for the amount of submission credits that I would want. I think this makes the most sense, don’t you agree?

I have been able to implement these link building strategies with several successful blogs and had them rank on the first page of Google search results within 6 weeks with my quickest occurring in 8 days! (that was fun) While I’m always fine tuning my link building strategies, this is my standard protocol with every article that I publish. 2.) As a member of Content Facilitator you can write articles that will be published on other people’s site. You will add or build backlinks into your article. The beauty of building backlinks this way is, you get to determine the anchor text used. The amount you pay will determine how many articles you can publish, but it is not hard at all to build backlinks this way. I use it to build backlinks and as part of my deep linking strategy.
